If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately or go to your nearest emergency room or urgent care. Do not wait for a clinic appointment.
Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment for check-in and vitals. To cancel or reschedule, call the clinic at least 24 hours in advance. Late arrivals (10+ minutes) may need to be rescheduled. Bring your Alberta Health Care Card to every visit and keep your contact information up to date.
Walk-in hours may differ from regular clinic hours. Call ahead to confirm availability. Patients are seen first-come, first-served and wait times may vary. Walk-in patients are encouraged to address one to two concerns per visit. For complex or ongoing issues, a follow-up appointment may be recommended.
Being seen at the clinic does not automatically make that physician your family doctor. Speak with clinic staff if you are looking for a family doctor. While phone and virtual appointments may be available, in-person visits will be required from time to time for patient safety.
Due to high community demand, we may be unable to return calls on some days. Please use online booking or email as an alternative. Phone, email, and text communication involves certain privacy risks. By communicating electronically, patients acknowledge and accept those risks.
Request prescription renewals one to two weeks before your supply runs out. Renewals can be addressed through appointments, walk-ins, or virtual visits. Prescriptions are generally limited to 90 days. Narcotics and controlled medications are not prescribed to walk-in patients who are not established clinic patients.
Test results, specialist reports, and medical findings are discussed only with the patient or authorized guardian. Contact the clinic to arrange an appointment to review results with your physician.
Your personal health information is treated as confidential and will only be released with written consent, unless required by law. Your medical file may be viewed by clinic staff involved in your care. The clinic may access your Netcare record for clinical purposes. Do not submit confidential medical information via email or web forms.
All interactions must remain respectful. Intimidating, hostile, abusive, or discriminatory behaviour will not be accepted, whether in person, by phone, email, or online. Anyone whose conduct places others at risk may be asked to leave, and the patient relationship may be ended.
If you or anyone with you has symptoms of illness (cough, fever, sore throat), notify reception on arrival. Children must be supervised at all times. Keep personal belongings with you and devices on silent. Delays may occur when a physician is caring for an urgent case.
Some services are not covered by Alberta Health and must be paid by the patient, including medical forms, driver's medicals, sick notes, travel consultations, and certain administrative services. Allow one to two weeks for completion. Physicians complete forms based on professional judgment and will not alter medical opinions to satisfy outside requirements.
The use of cell phones, cameras, and audio or video recording devices is not permitted in clinical areas or examination rooms unless express permission has been granted by the clinic.
Physicians may use an AI-assisted scribe tool during appointments to help capture visit details. This is optional and declining will not affect care quality. Audio is processed for transcription and is not permanently stored. De-identified content may be processed through U.S.-based servers. Ask your physician if you have questions.
Some services at our location (pharmacy, physiotherapy, eye care) are independent businesses and not part of Savanna Medical Centre. Physicians at the clinic also practice independently, and services offered by one physician do not automatically apply to another.
We are currently accepting new patients. Contact us to arrange a meet-and-greet appointment. Bring your Alberta Health Care Card and government-issued photo ID to your first visit.
